Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other query into a search box supplied by a partner tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. This site does not keep its own log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply information may be kept long enough to respond and manage the request. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical information when a page loads.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when a browser sends that detail.
- Date and time of the visit.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site usage, remember basic preferences, support analytics, and help advertising partners measure activity. Visitors can block cookies through browser settings, although some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
- Keep pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- Send search requests to the partner service selected by the visitor.
- Understand which Daviess County record pages are useful to readers.
- Find broken links, display problems, and other technical issues.
- Support advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites and Official Records
This site links to DDCRJ resources, the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, Missouri courts, Missouri DOC, federal locators, VINELink, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, that website's own privacy policy and terms control the visit. Missouri public-record access is generally governed by Chapter 610 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, but the office that maintains a record controls its own request process and disclosure decision.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure visits or serve interest-based ads across websites. That tracking occurs under the partner's policy, not under a government record request.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone mailing list or contact list. It may be available to the following parties when needed for the site to function or when the law requires it.
- Search partners that process submitted search queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site performance and usage.
- Advertising networks and related service providers.
- Law-enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information handled by the site. No internet-connected service can be promised to be fully secure, and this notice does not guarantee that unauthorized access can never occur.
Visitors Under 18
The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, a parent or guardian may request deletion.
Data Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site.
- Request correction of inaccurate contact information.
- Request deletion where retention is not legally or operationally required.
- Opt out of certain processing where available under applicable law or browser controls.
Policy Changes
This privacy notice may be revised from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date when a date is used.
